🥏 Bmw E46 330Ci Vs M3
325 & 55 said: E46 M3 Front Strut Brace: The front strut brace increases front chassis rigidity, which reduces front wheel camber changes during hard cornering. Reduced front wheel camber changes under these conditions result in optimum tire contact for quicker steering response and more precise handling.
The 330Ci was targeted to the exact same market as the current 335i coupe, while the M3 was built for a different market by a different division. The 335i coupe has a lot more in common with the 330Ci than the M3; people have got to stop focusing on horsepower alone as the criteria for comparisons. 1. R.
Again, we’ll give the overall win to the M3 as the more reliable car in the 335i vs M3 discussion. 335i vs M3: Handling. The M3 of course receives the clear victory from the factory. The F80’s are the best handling cars on this list. However, and this is a big however. BMW moved to electric power steering for the F30 335i and F80 M3. Yes
Yes they are both 6 cylinder, a 325 is a 2.5L I6 that puts out about 184hp and the 330 is a 3.0L I6 that puts out about 220-230hp (cant remember the exact number). In terms of driving, a 330 will be noticeably quicker than their 325 counterparts. 01-08-2010, 05:08 AM #4. roverT604. Member. Join Date.
We compare a stock BMW E46 M3 against a stock E46 330ci, looking at the exterior, interior and driving differences, including their exhaust notes. Both are great cars, the 330CI is

Its kind of like asking if its cool to stuff a sock down the front of your pants. ACT Streetlight Flywheel, ACT Sport clutch, Rogue Engineering SSK, H&R Sways, H&R Sport Springs, KONI
the '03 M3 will fit your '01 330Ci but, your car does not have the auto leveling feature which could pose a problem. Also the '02+ xenon headlamps are BiXenon, I don't believe the pre-'02 coupes had bixenons. With the '01 sedan headlamps you would have to swap the outer lens out for the coupe headlamp lens. The 328Ci is comparable to the 330Ci and it is definitely performance wise leaps behind the M3 in both acceleration, handling, and durability. The 335xi is as fast as the M3 in acceleration, and even in faster in some regards without the need to chip. It has great power delivery, good torque, but doesnt handle as well stock for stock.
The cost of buying and retrofitting M3 brakes on your 330 would probably cost as much as a BBK if not more. Otherwise, just upgrade the brake pads and upgrade the rotors to stock size, cross drilled units from brembo. However, youre getting a new Bimmer and the brakes are still under warranty.
To the OP, 128i has 11.8-inch discs front and back, compared to 12.8-inch front and 12.6-inch rears on a 330i. Final drive ratio is I think 2.73:1 on the 128 compared to 2.93/3.07 on the manual E46 330i. Personally, I'd go with the 135i just to get its monster brakes. No leather/no cold weather package/no sports package.
I can tell you that the M54B30 in the E46 330ci is a very fun engine, and mine was still kicking at 209,000 miles when I sold my old E39 530i. And comparing manual to auto is no contest if you're after fun and driving enjoyment. It's tough to beat a pair like that in the E46 chassis if you're looking for some excitement.
No matter how well BMW designed the E46 M3, with worn-out bushings, and tired control arms, you aren't doing the car justice in performing the way it was in

Depending on where you look, some ZHP people feel their car is worth what an M car is. $16k will either get you a 40k to 50k ZHP or a 70k to 100k M3. A 330Ci Sport option can be had for well under $10,000. Mine was $8,400 @ 114k with a manual gearbox. But before you say: "Okay I'll go M."
