🐳 Is The Noctua Nh D15 Worth It
89. Noctua's low profile NH-L9i heatsink stands 36mm tall so it will fit into the smallest of small form factor chassis. The NH-L9i is designed to cool Intel socket LGA115x (1155/1156/1150
I like my shit to stay quiet, but I wonder if two fans are worth it and will still be silent enough? The guru3d review says, 40% rpm keeps the thing cool enough at most times then it cranks to 80% rpm when needed.
The noctua charts will have a nspr rating for their coolers. Yes, the NH-D15s is a touch less capable than the NH-D15, but still plenty capable. And, one can add a front fan to improve cooling, but tests show it only helps by 2c. I did not bother since cooling is not an issue for me.
At half the price of the NH-U12S you can get 100% similar performance. And if you want the best, just spend 20% more for the full-fat Noctua NH and get 110% of the U12S performance. The two on Amazon are V3 for $20 and V5 for $30. I can't speak to their perf though. I reviewed this cooler.
Solved by Votivee, You can absolutely run 2 or 3 fans off of the same header on a motherboard with a splitter. The fans on the splitter will run at the same speeds. I would recommend using the same RPM fans if you can't use identical models. I have a Dark Rock Pro 4, and then 2 intake and one exhaust. My intake fans run on a splitter on the
Noctuas are arguably the best coolers on the market bar none. Noctua coolers are great, but there are usually better value CPU coolers. I would recommend the Scythe Fuma 2 for $60 USD. Compared to the NH-U12S, the Fuma 2 is a better overall cooler, with the only downside being it might not fit in some cases under 20L.
In dual fan mode, the NH-D15 should be used with standard height RAM (up to 32mm). – Dual NF-A15 140mm fans: The NH-D15 features two of Noctua’s premium class NF-A15 140mm fans. Complying with Noctua’s AAO standard and featuring sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A15 has quickly built up a
Well NH-D15 is the best air cooler on the market rn. Beating 360mm AIO's. The stock cooler is pretty good and it also has RGB if you fancy it, but if you want really quiet cooler for reasonable price then Scythe Mugen 5 - its also not too much behind NH-D15.
GTRagnarok. The NH-D15S doesn't have better RAM clearance. It just doesn't come with the front fan so it's not an issue, but you can just as easily not use the front fan on the D15. The purpose of the S version is to have better clearance for video cards as some might sit too high up on the motherboard and touch the heatsink.
Also, the NH-D15 has more thermal mass than the Evo 212. This Noctua has better heat removal capacity, which is what you want from a cooling device. The 212 Evo is a budget cooler and has average stock speeds but falls short of the levels set by the NH-D15. The latter promises great and quiet performance.
You can say that about many of their competitors, and at lower price points. Might have been more true a decade ago, but Noctua stagnated while others closed the gap (and in some cases, eclipsed Noctua) in some of their traditional strong points such as mounting hardware. 5. M4TT145. • 7 mo. ago.
Noctua makes some of the best CPU coolers around, but personally, I've never been a fan of the beige, brown, and silver color combination. Noctua showed all-black versions of the NH-D15, NH
Basically, on Amazon CA the NH-D15 is $109CAD, the NH-D15 Chromax is $149.95CAD, and the NH-D15S is $119.95CAD. Obviously i want to get the Chromomax version. But there is no way I am getting the (dual fan) D15 Chromax, too expensive. I understand the D15S only has one fan. So it comes down to the D15 (dual fan) vs the D15S (single fan Chromax).
The d15 is not a Fan. Its a dual tower heatsink. People using Fan for heatsink drive me up the wall. The d15 is overkill for a 5600x if budget is tight. Otherwise, nope that's fine. Looking at the GPU he is going to buy (AMD RX 6800 XT) + the memory kit he got + the SSD he picked, he clearly isn't on a tight budget.
The NM-AMB12 are offset AM5 mounting bars for Noctua CPU coolers with 83mm mounting pitch that require their mounting points at the north and south side of the socket for optimal orientation, such as the popular NH-D15(S), NH-D14, NH-C14S or NH-D9L (see detailed compatibility list).
